The next reason for darker underarms is because of regular usage of deodorant as deodorants contain harsh chemicals. Our underarm skin is very delicate and sensible and so exposing it to chemicals cause pigmentation and skin decolorization.

Dead cells are formed all over the body and the underarm has no exception to this. Accumulation of dead cells around the skin stays as one of the reasons for darker armpits.
The next reason is hyper pigmentation which is a common condition where certain spots in the skin appear darker which is due to the excess amount of melanin. Melanin is the pigmentation which gives color to the skin.

Bacteria can dwell well in the underarm and it seems to be a perfect home for bacteria. Excess sweating can trap the bacteria in the skin and cause discoloration

Taking a warm bath, using unscented moisturizers this can be reduced and never scratch them as scratching makes the skin vulnerable and leads to infection.
