During the world war, II fabrics like wool, silk and nylon were very luxurious and they were highly regulated. Women’s skirts and dresses were often made by rayon and viscose.

Those days’ skirts and dresses are also made out of anything that is available at home like curtains, bed sheets etc. which is because of the illegality of excessive fabrics. With the economic boom in the 1950s glamour has become fashionable and so A-line and pencil fit skirts were popular.

Dresses in those decades will have stylish ruffles, laces and will mostly nee knee length. Later in 1960s miniskirts and mini dresses entered into the scene and they were trending which later in got changed in the 70s as floating maxi skirts and loose fitting skirts entered the scene and those dresses became dominant.

They were trendsetters for the time and the style occupied till 1970 and later as many women entered to work and they were in the trend of suits as it gives professional look.
