People get confused with half saree and a saree but there is an actual difference between both. Both this saree and half-and-half saree are traditional wear and they are all-time trending.

The basic difference between both is that half-and-half saree is a one-piece saree where the pleats are in contrasting color when compared with the remaining part of the saree whereas a half sarees are actually half the actual saree and is a traditional dress which is worn by girls during their puberty function. This half saree is also called as two-piece saree, which is called as Langa Voni in Telegu and Pavadai Daavani in Tamil.
The entire dress consists of Langa that is also called as Pavadai, which is a full-length skirt with a big flair that is tied around the waist using a string. The other part is called Oni or Daavani that is a cloth that measures nearly to 2 to 2.5 meters in length. This can also be a long shawl, which can be used as a Daavani. This Daavani is worn diagonally over a choli or a blouse. This kind of dress is worn in some parts of North India and it is known as Ghagra Choli.

The half saree has no pleats in front but whereas a saree has pleats in front. The only difference in the dress in the south and north is the way they drape. Full saree is often six meters long, which can be draped in different ways. Draping depends based on the material of the saree we choose.
A saree goes around the waist and then pleated at the front and then the pallu goes around the shoulder. The side of the pallu depends upon the regions because people in different regions drape them in a different style.
