Eating disorders describe illness that are categorized by irregular eating habits and leads to weight gain. Eating disorder includes inadequate or excessive food intake which will ultimately damage ones well being.

          “To lose confidence in one’s body is to lose confidence in oneself.”

The very most common forms of eating disorders are Nervosa, Anorexia and Binge which can affect both men and women. These eating disorders can develop at any stage but it typically appears during adulthood.

Eating disorders can be cured with appropriate treatments that are highly effectual. It affects people with anxiety, depression, and stress. There are different types of eating disorders. The three most common eating disorders are 

  • Anorexia Nervosa
  • Bulimia Nervosa 
  • Binge eating disorder

Anorexia disorder

Both male and female suffer from anorexia nervosa who will typically have fear of weight gain .It’s because they refused to maintain body weight. People with this disease awfully limit the quantity of food which they consume and view themselves overweight even when they are underweight. This can cause brain damage and can lead to health effects like heart difficulties and infertility. This can increase the risk of death for some people.

Bulimia Nervosa

Eating disorder is classified based on behaviours such as overeating which lead to forced vomiting, excessive exercise and extreme use of laxatives.  People who suffer from bulimia have fear of weight gain and feel unhappy all time because of their body size and shape. It can cause severe dehydration, gastric problems, and heart difficulties which results in imbalance electrolyte.

Binge Eating Disorder

Individual’s suffering from bingle will always lose control over eating. People suffering from BED are in risk of developing cardiovascular disease. People who suffer with this disease will experience guilt, distress, and embarrassment in eating.

Eating disorders causes

It is a complex disorder influenced by few factors through which the exact cause of eating disorder is unknown.

Biological factors like

  • Irregular hormone function
  • Genetics
  • Nutritional deficiencies 

These are some of the biological factors 

There are few psychological factors like 

  • Negative body image 
  • Poor self esteem 

Signs and Symbols of eating disorder

People suffering from eating disorder reveal many signs and symptoms like 

  • Chronic dieting despite being underweight 
  •  Continuous Weight fluctuation
  • Obsession with calories and fat containing food items 
  • Depression 
  • Switching between overeating and fasting
