What causes dry scalp?

Dry scalp is the result of dormant and underactive oil glands in the scalp which are not capable of producing the needed amount of natural oil in the skin. The common causes of it are
• Longer use of harsh shampoos which have a lot of chemical content will make the scalp dry
• Fungal infection
• Exposure to hot water regularly
• Lack of nutrients in the body which is because of improper diet
• Exposure to extreme weather conditions
To get rid of all these naturally, you can use products at our kitchen like
• Tea tree shampoo– Few drops of tea tree oil can be used to our regular shampoo and then used normally which can be used twice a week so that the oil acts as an antifungal agent and it unclogs the pores and helps in regulating the natural oil production.
• Apple cider vinegar – Applying 2-3 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar twice a week will make the glands normal as apple cider is an astringent and it cleanses the microbes and balances the PH of the skin.
• Oil – Coconut oil works wonder for the skin as these oils are available easily and it will hydrate and relieve the flakiness. Oil application not only has a moisturising effect but it also helps in retaining the moisture content of scalp.
• Egg and Yoghurt – Yoghurt helps in cleansing and exfoliates the scalp to remove all the dead cells in the scalp. It unclogs the pores and aids to restore the functioning of oil glands.
• Baking soda – Using baking soda twice a week will restore the PH balance in the scalp as it is good to exfoliate.
• Mayonnaise – Mayonnaise is filled with oils and fats so it helps I conditioning the scalp and the hair.
