Ripped Nails
The surface of fingernails should be smooth and if you detect ripples or pitting developing then it is an early warning of inflammatory arthritis. Deficiency in calcium, Zinc, Or vitamin A can ridge the fingernails.

White Nails
If the nail bed is predominantly white with rims being dark then it indicates a liver problem where according to the research pale fingernails can indicate problems with anemia, liver problems and even heart disease.

Yellow Nails
The most common cause of yellow nails is a fungal infection and if the condition continues then the nails become deteriorate and it becomes thick and crumbles. Nails that remain yellow despite the treatment then it is a symptom of thyroid condition or diabetes. Yellow nails can indicate the presence of skin cancer.

Split or cracked nails
Nail being split and cracked then it’s because of fungal infection. If the splitting is not because of household cleansers then it is a sign of thyroid disease. Splitting nails may be caused by hypothyroidism where it is a condition in which the thyroid gland is underactive and it does not produce hormones.

Puffy nails
If there is puffy skin which is found around the nail bed with redness and swelling then it could be because of infection called paronychia where it is a common infection which can be treated with antibiotics.

Dark lines beneath nails
This kind of change in nails is a cause of concern where dark lines beneath the nail can be caused because of injury where blood can get clot under the nail and forms dark lines.
